"First Encounter"
"That guy… that guy… is actually living as a human!" Tanjiro exclaimed, shocked.
Muzan Kibutsuji looked at them quizzically. "What do you want?" A faint, seemingly genuine smile touched his lips. "You seem rather agitated."
A beautiful woman, resembling the little girl in Muzan Kibutsuji's arms, approached.
"Mama!" the little girl cried.
To ordinary people, this scene would be unremarkable—a typical family. But to Tanjiro and Aoki, it was incredibly bizarre. Tanjiro trembled, covering his mouth.
Tanjiro's thoughts: "The woman and the child are human! Can't they tell? He's a demon! He eats people!"
"Do you know them?" the woman asked Muzan Kibutsuji, noticing Tanjiro and Aoki.
"No. I'm just as confused. I don't recognize them," Muzan Kibutsuji said coldly, his gaze shifting to Tanjiro and Aoki. "Perhaps you've mistaken me for someone else."
"Oh, I see," the woman said with a smile, oblivious to Muzan Kibutsuji's hand transforming into a sharp claw. He silently inflicted three claw wounds on a passerby's neck, drawing blood.
Tanjiro and Aoki saw this, but they were too slow to react. The passerby stopped, quickly transforming into a demon.
The demon lunged at his wife, biting her shoulder.
"No!" Tanjiro shouted, tackling the demon, pinning it down, and covering its mouth with cloth.
Aoki, after a moment of hesitation, helped Tanjiro subdue the demon.
They didn't notice Muzan Kibutsuji watching them with a sinister look.
Tanjiro struggled to hold the demon down, relying on Aoki's assistance.
Tanjiro's thoughts: "He'll be alright. He hasn't eaten anyone yet. He just happened to be passing by."
He looked back to where Muzan Kibutsuji had been standing, only to see him leaving with the woman and child.
"Senior Aoki, Muzan Kibutsuji is escaping! Stop him!" Tanjiro urged.
Aoki continued subduing the demon.
"Senior Aoki!" Tanjiro was confused. Why would Aoki let Muzan Kibutsuji escape?
"Tanjiro," Aoki finally said, "You should be grateful Muzan Kibutsuji didn't attack us."
Tanjiro sensed fear in Aoki's voice.
"Muzan Kibutsuji is incredibly strong," Aoki explained. "The Demon Slayer Corps can't defeat him. If he'd attacked, we wouldn't have stood a chance."
Aoki had secretly used his Sharingan and Tsukuyomi on Muzan Kibutsuji while his attention was elsewhere. But the powerful genjutsu only momentarily stunned Muzan Kibutsuji, who immediately recovered.
The system's scan revealed Muzan Kibutsuji's combat power: 7429 points, with a previously unseen "SSS" level rating.
Aoki realized they were mere ants before Muzan Kibutsuji. For some reason, Muzan Kibutsuji hadn't attacked them directly, choosing this indirect method of incapacitation.
Believing Aoki, Tanjiro felt a surge of frustration. His enemy was before him, yet he was powerless.
Tanjiro shouted angrily at Muzan Kibutsuji, "Muzan Kibutsuji! Wherever you go, I will find you! I will hunt you to the ends of hell! I will cut off your head! I will not forgive you!"
Muzan Kibutsuji's face darkened, his brow furrowed, veins bulging on his forehead.
"What are you doing? Are you drunk?!"
The commotion attracted police officers.
"Boys, leave that man alone!" Several officers approached, pointing at Tanjiro and Aoki.
Aoki frowned. This was unexpected. These ordinary people didn't know about demons or demon slayers. They wouldn't believe the man had become a demon.
