Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Selena

I entered the warehouse where my gang was gathered around the table. "What did Raven find?" I asked, sitting in the center. "He was on the hunt again two days ago" Raven began, and I could see the worry in her eyes. "I followed him after the hunt and he's apparently been hired by someone to watch us." I raised an eyebrow and leaned back against the table. "Hired? By who?" I asked.

"We couldn't see well, but he was wearing a mask" Skyler called out, who was looking at the list of participants in the hunt. "There he is!" Skyler turned her laptop so we could see everyone. "Prof. Cross signed up under a fake name!" "So he's not the only one who knows about the hunt," I muttered thoughtfully. "Someone wants to expose us" Eve said.

"I think we should all take turns keeping an eye on him," Noah suggested, her voice firm. "If he's trying to spy on us, we need to know what he's planning." "And maybe we can use this situation to our advantage" Eve chimed in, a wicked grin spreading across her face. "What do you have in mind?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. Eve leaned back in her chair, her eyes gleaming with mischief.

"Maybe we can catch him off guard and interrogate him ourselves" Eve continued, her smile turning devilish. "Find out who hired him and why." Noah, do you think you could track his movements?" I asked, turning to my tech-savvy friend. "I'll hack the school's security system and track him from there" Noah replied, her fingers already flying across her laptop keyboard.

I nodded, impressed with her plan. "Okay, we'll follow him and see where he takes us." I turned to the rest of the group. "Raven, you're with me. Eve, Skyler, keep an eye on things here. Noah, keep an eye on him and let us know if he moves." The girls nodded in agreement and we quickly dispersed to complete our tasks. As I walked back to the house, Raven walked beside me.

As we walked back to the house, Raven's presence was comforting. She was always the most level-headed among us, and her support meant a lot in this tense situation. "So, how are you handling everything?" Raven asked, glancing sideways at me as we moved through the trees. Her voice carried a hint of genuine concern. "I'm okay" I replied, my voice quieter than usual. "It's just... complicated." "What specifically?" "Aiden."

"I've been thinking about him non-stop since I brought him here" I admitted, running a hand through my hair in frustration. "I know it's wrong, but I can't help feeling this... connection with him." Raven nodded understandingly. "You care about him. It's natural to want to protect those you care about." "You make it sound so simple" I sighed. "It is simple" she insisted.

We arrived at my house and it was unusually quiet. "Raven, you stay here" I said, climbing the stairs. When I reached Aiden's room, relief washed over me. I thought he had escaped. He was sleeping, his breathing even and calm. My bunny, my obsession. "Sleep, bunny." I murmured softly.

I turned and descended the stairs, finding Raven waiting for me in the living room. "He's asleep" I informed her. "Let's go to the basement." I led her downstairs, where we settled into comfortable chairs. "Tell me about the Professor" I prompted, eager to focus on something besides Aiden. "He hasn't done anything suspicious lately" Raven said. "But Noah found something interesting."

I arched an eyebrow. "Oh really? What did she find?" "He's been asking questions about the students who participated in the hunt," Raven explained. "Specifically, he wanted to know who signed up last minute." "That's odd" I mused, tapping my fingers on the armrest. "Why would he be interested in that?" "I don't know, but it can't be good" Raven said grimly.

My heart pounded as I tried to process the implications of Raven's revelation. Prof. Cross had been inquiring about the hunt participants, and specifically those who joined at the last minute. That could only mean trouble for us. "He's getting too close" I murmured, more to myself than to Raven. She nodded solemnly, her expression matching the gravity of the situation. "We need to act fast" she said.

Raven stood up and looked at me determinedly. "We're going to keep the hunt a secret and stop them!" She put her hand on my shoulder and I growled a little because she forgot that I don't let anyone touch me. She backed away, but she didn't show any fear. "Whatever. I'm leaving." she said and walked out of the basement.

As I watched her leave, my mind raced with thoughts of what to do next. I knew we had to stop Prof. Cross and whoever hired him, but I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over me. Something wasn't right. I made my way back upstairs, my steps heavy with dread. When I reached Aiden's room, I paused outside the door, listening for any signs of movement. All was quiet.

I pushed open the door to find Aiden still fast asleep, his chest rising and falling steadily. I crept closer, my heart pounding in my chest as I knelt beside the bed. His blonde hair fell over his forehead, and I couldn't resist brushing it back gently. His eyelids fluttered briefly, but he didn't wake. I studied his face, taking in the soft curve of his cheekbones, the slight parting of his lips.

My fingers glided lightly over Aiden's cheek, tracing the delicate line of his jaw. I want so much to devour him, to destroy him, to fuck him unconscious, but patience is a virtue. Until he confesses, I will keep the beast inside me under control.

The thought of his confession sent a shiver through my body and I felt my penis twitch in anticipation. I leaned closer, breathing in his scent deeply before kissing him softly on the temple. He stirred slightly, a soft sigh escaping his lips, but otherwise he remained still. I smiled to myself, knowing that very soon he would be begging for my touch.

I got up, leaving him to sleep for now, and left his room. I went into the room where I had plastered his pictures all over the walls. They've been there since the first day he came to Montrevere. Three damn weeks of me obsessing over him. Now he's the air I can't breathe. This deep need to be mine alone awakens the monster in me, but I'm not just a monster to him, I'm his nightmare.

I moved around the room, my fingers grazing over the images of him, remembering every detail. He was perfect in every way. Tall, athletic build, with shaggy blond hair and striking blue eyes. The photos were taken during various moments when he wasn't aware of my gaze. Some captured him laughing with friends, others showed him lost in thought, and a few displayed his competitive spirit during sports events.

I felt a sense of power wash over me as I stood there, surrounded by memories of him. Every image was a testament to my obsession, a reminder of the hold he had on me. My fingers traced the edges of the photographs, feeling their textures beneath my fingertips. I closed my eyes briefly, reliving every stolen glance, every fleeting interaction. When I opened them again, my resolve was stronger than ever. I would have him.
