The girl wasn't heavy, and though his own body hadn't fully grown, he was naturally gifted. Carrying a little girl was still easy. Thinking about it carefully, they all said he was a "releaser" (someone who releases Pokémon). Honestly, if it weren't for the rule that trainers couldn't fight trainers, who would be a match for my Ash?

His strength rivaled Snorlax, his defense rivaled Shuckle, he ran no slower than Pikachu, and his jumping could match Blaziken. With this physical fitness, who needed Pokémon?

While Ash was complaining about himself, the girl on Ash's back felt an unprecedented sense of security and warmth, and her cheeks involuntarily flushed red. "Um... My name is Serena! Thank you for saving me."

"My name is Ash, you're welcome," Ash responded.

"I know, Professor Oak called your name just now. You're so amazing. You're almost the same age as me, but you know so much, and... you're not afraid at all!" Feeling safe, Serena also became cheerful. In fact, she was an outgoing girl, but she had never encountered such a situation before, and now she was still a little afraid of Pokémon.

"Afraid? Do you mean Pokémon? They're not scary at all! Although some are very fierce, many are very cute."

"I know, but I still don't dare to approach wild Pokémon like this." Serena, of course, knew that she would like some cute Pokémon too. She only dared to approach them if someone had caught them. She didn't dare to approach wild ones like this.

"You can just make friends with them. Even if you haven't caught a Pokémon yet, you can still get along well with them," Ash said as he carried Serena towards the campsite.

"Can I...?," Serena leaned on Ash's shoulder, responding uncertainly.

"Of course, you can!"

...

The two chatted as Ash slowly carried Serena out of the forest and back onto the forest path. Ash remembered the location of the campsite. After all, this was near Pallet Town, and although children rarely came to these places, he was still relatively familiar with the surrounding terrain. He just had to follow the path.

"Everyone's gone!!" Walking past the original path, Serena was a little worried. Although Ash was with her, she also knew that Ash, like her, wasn't a trainer, so she started to worry.

"It's okay. I know where the campsite is. Just keep following this path, and we'll get there. They must be there, and they're probably looking for us everywhere now!" Ash reassured Serena. Serena felt at ease after hearing Ash's words. For some reason, she always felt that this boy, who was about her age, was surprisingly reliable.

Flap flap flap!! Caw caw!!!!

"Hmm??" Just then, a familiar cry suddenly sounded from behind. Serena shivered upon hearing it. Ash subconsciously turned his head. Looking back, he saw black shadows constantly appearing in the sky. They were Spearows. And at this moment, an even larger black shadow descended from the sky. Its body was much larger than a Spearow's, with orange feathers, and off-white parts between its two wings and at the tips of its wings. It had a red crest on its head. Its pink beak was long and sharp.

"Fearow, and it brought its boss along." Ash naturally recognized it at a glance. This guy had a bad temper. No wonder there was such a large flock of Spearows; it turned out they were led by a Fearow.

"Ash, what do we do?" The Spearows were already terrifying enough. He hadn't expected a Fearow to come too. It looked even fiercer than those Spearows. Now, she could only rely on Ash.

"Hold on tight, we're going to run!" Fortunately, Ash couldn't read minds. If you asked him what he could do, what could he do? What else could he do but run?

"Okay!!" Serena immediately hugged Ash's neck tightly. Ash didn't waste any time, quickly turned around and ran forward with Serena on his back.

Caw!!! Fearow let out a hoarse cry, and all the Spearows, as if receiving an order, swooped down. Fearow also charged along with them.

Buzz!!!! Carrying Serena, he couldn't run fast, but there was no other option now. Suddenly, he heard the sound of air moving, and Ash immediately sensed danger. Serena was too scared to look. Ash kept running, looking back. He saw the Fearow in the air looking down at them. Its sharp beak opened, and a purple energy quickly gathered.

"Tsk! This is trouble. Hold on tight!!"

"Ah!!"

Boom!!!! As soon as the words fell, a roar was heard. Ash glanced back, no time to think, and quickly ran to the side of the road. He then dove to the side with Serena, releasing her from his back as she screamed, and simultaneously fell to the ground by the roadside.

Crash boom!!! With a loud bang, a thick purple beam of light descended from the sky, hitting the ground and sweeping forward. The area swept by the light beam directly caused an astonishing explosion, leaving a scorched mark from which smoke continuously rose.

"Hm?? Something's happening! That way is..." The sound of the explosion echoed a long distance. At this moment, the staff members who were leaving the campsite to search for Ash and Serena also noticed it.

"Something must have happened over there. Maybe Ash and the others are there. Hurry!" The two staff members looked at each other and immediately said.

At this moment, on Ash and Serena's side, they had avoided the attack. The entire path was cleared, and fire blazed on the ground.

"Are you alright! Quickly, get up, we need to go." Ash quickly spoke, holding Serena in his arms.

"I... I can't. Ash, you go by yourself! Don't worry about me." Serena's voice was trembling at this point, but it was much better than before, when she would cry after being startled. However, she was afraid of burdening Ash.

"Don't say silly things. We'll go together." Ash smiled when he saw this and ruffled her messy hair, comforting her. His original straw hat had no idea where it had fallen, and he had no time to worry about it now.
