As she sat on the bed her mind was fuddled with series of questions, she can't seem to even point out one to ask herself, she pushed herself backwards so she could support her self with the arranged fluffy and soft pillows, her back rested on the wall with her waist comfortable because of the softness of the pillow that she felt below her back.
She hugged her knees, pulling it close to her chest, she rested her jaw on her knees and she breathed a sigh of exhaustion, "what does he mean by I'm a sitting duck and I'm not out of the woods yet, " she finally picked one of the questions, from the questions that clouded her brain. Something struck her mind and raised her head, "wait a minute..." She trailed and continued. "Does he mean I can't help myself in this school that his stupid promise not protecting me that am vulnerable to them?" She asked her self and scoffed in annoyance.
"Who does he think he is the head of authority? To tell me his promise is superior, " She folded her arms to her chest. "If he thinks I'm vulnerable without him, he is wrong because I am going to show him what I can do," she pushed her body away from the wall and asked herself again. "He thinks because I appear to be delicate that I am enfeebled, " she scoffed again in annoyance. "I'll prove to him, without and with his absurd promise I am not as delicate as he thought."
She remembered his eyes turning gold, and that brought up another tons of questions that made her head start aching, not wanting to answer the mystery by herself, she shifted her legs towards the edge of the bed, now sitting at the edge of the bed she turned on the lamp near her bed and walked towards her study table that was close to her window.
She raised the chair and placed it not too far away from the table, she sat down and draw it closer to the table without making a noise, as she felt it was too far away, she opened her laptop, punching the keys and inputting her password, she was too fast while punching the keys so she missed a pin of her password, she tried it again and it opened to her homepage, she started searching for humans with eyes that changes to gold, she saw some related searches about human with rare genetics of gold eyes.
When her eyes wandered around the screen and her hands controlling the touch pad, before she could see headlines about what species of creature has golden eyes her laptop dings, thinking it was her father and was anticipating to see the message, she left the search page and entered her message. She got thrilled thinking it was her father unfortunately it was an unknown number, her face soon drop with the excitement in her heart burning as it dissipates to the air. She got anxious and worried that her dad hasn't replied her yet, her sad face soon turned serious when she got to the message that was sent by the unknown number.
Rowan sat on the edge of the bed, drinking the blood in the can, he emptied the can and placed it at the top of his drawer with the can joining the numbers of the pile of empty can. Even after finishing 10 cans of blood he wasn't satisfied, he has never been satisfied since they restricted the vampires from drinking empty cans.
He collapsed onto the bed, his usual urge to prowl the night, but exhaustion won out. His red eyes roamed the dark ceiling as he ran his tongue over his fangs, his mind consumed by thoughts of her. webs of questions swirled in his head. "How can I satisfy my desires? Why is she distancing herself from me? Does she have feelings for Conrad? Does she find him more appealing than me?"
The queries shrouded his mind making him almost unable for him to think well, probing the depths of his desires. "Are these just primal urges, or do I genuinely have feelings for her?" He tried to shake off the thoughts, but they lingered, refusing to be dismissed. The contradiction between his hatred for humans and his growing attachment to her only added to his turmoil.
He shut his eyes, unease settling in as the human girl's image lingered in his mind. Suddenly, he sat up, his gaze intensifying as his red eyes shifted to a piercing gold. His expression turned serious, a mixture of cold calculation and charismatic emptiness. "I need to make her mine," he declared, his voice laced with pride and a hint of darkness. "First, I'll get rid of those vindictive eyes that are in her." He believed his motives were purely driven by desire, unaware that his feelings for her went beyond mere attraction.
Harper saw the message which reads. 'Prepare to leave the school Harper Willows.' Her face turned into a grimace after reading the message, she wanted to ignore the message but our of sheer curiosity she typed back. 'who is this? ' she stared at the messages that displayed on the screen anticipating for the next message.
'if you want to know who I am come meet me in the forest when it's 9. '
'but that's when the party starts, is this just a prank because of Halloween? How did the person even reach out to my contact info? Do I have a stalker? Why does the person wants to meet me in the restricted part of the school? What's going on. ' questions and doubt rained on her mind causing the headache to get worse because of the many questions laying on her mind and the weight of the questions seems to be too strong for her head to absorb, she felt the urge of not going to the forest but unfortunately her curiosity wouldn't permit it.
She closed her laptop and stood up from the chair, she rubbed her sleepy eyes but with the thought of the unknown message ringing on her head she forgot about what she was searching for before she got the message, she collapsed on the bed with a light thump and dozed off with the light still on.
"Have you sent the message already?" Ryla asked amber who was holding the phone.
"Yes, so it's her choice if she wants to kill herself if she is fortunate they might not do anything to her, but if she's not, she won't be saying only goodbye to the school, " a malevolent smirk creeped on her sinful lips.
