Chapter 14 : Luca reveals the secret.
Luca stormed into the room, his steps heavy, his eyes wild with fury and pain. Janet stood frozen near the window, startled by the sharp slam of the door. Before she could speak, he grabbed her wrist tightly, his grip trembling with rage.
"You think you were just some girl?" he roared, his breath laced with the bitter scent of whiskey. "Do you even know what I went through watching you live a lie? I was there, every single time you cried—every damn moment they used you, sold you!"
His voice cracked, but the fire in his eyes burned hotter. Janet's lips parted in shock, but before a word escaped, Luca turned and struck the mirror behind her with a loud, shattering blow.
Glass exploded in all directions. Janet gasped, watching blood drip down his knuckles, painting the shards red.
"I loved you in silence for fifteen years, Janet!" he shouted, the pain in his voice far deeper than the wound in his hand. "And you still don't see me…"
Janet reached for him, her heart racing with confusion and fear, but Luca stepped back, eyes clouded, chest heaving—as if breaking the mirror hadn't eased even an ounce of what was breaking inside him.
