Chapter 15: The Boy You Forgot
Luca's breath was ragged, his bleeding hand trembling at his side. Janet stared at him, unable to understand the fire raging in his eyes—not just anger, but something far older, deeper. He stepped toward her slowly, the silence in the room thick with tension.
"You don't even remember me, do you?" he said, voice low, bitter. "I was the fat boy. The one everyone laughed at. The one they pushed in the hallway… threw food at in the cafeteria… and you—" his voice broke, "you were the only one who ever looked at me like I was human."
Janet's breath caught. Her mind swirled. Fat boy?
"I waited for you to look at me again, Janet. But you were always with him—Asher. You smiled for him, laughed for him. And I—" he laughed hollowly, "I changed everything. My body. My world. My future. For you."
His eyes turned dark. "Because when I want something, Janet—I get it. Even if I have to crawl through fire. Even if it kills me."
"You're obsessed…" she whispered.
"Yes," he said without hesitation. "With you."
Janet stepped back, trembling. Her voice cracked as she screamed, "Then why did you kill my parents?! They meant everything to me!"
Luca's expression shifted like a storm breaking open. He closed the distance in a breath, gripping her arms as his voice thundered, "They weren't your parents!"
