Chapter 29: The Red Goddess
At 6 PM, Janet was scrolling through her phone when the maids entered her room carrying an elegant black box.
Inside was a stunning red bodycon dress, short, off-shoulder, with a gentle shimmer under light. Her eyes widened.
They helped her into it and styled her hair in loose, voluminous curls. Her makeup was bold, a contrast to her usual softness—deep red lipstick, smoky eyes, and a light shimmer on her cheekbones.
She looked into the mirror and barely recognized herself.
The once timid, broken girl was gone.
A fierce, breathtaking woman stared back.
Her heels clicked against the stairs as she descended slowly. Luca was waiting in the living room, dressed in a sharp black tuxedo. As he heard her steps, he looked up—and froze.
His mouth parted slightly, eyes wide.
She was radiant. Sensual. Untouchable.
"Do I… look good?" she asked, her voice low.
He was speechless. His cheeks flushed with color, but he quickly turned away.
"Our car is waiting," he mumbled, walking ahead.
"Wait!" she called, hurrying after him.
Her heel caught a step, and she stumbled. Before she could fall, Luca turned just in time to catch her in his arms.
Their eyes met. Time stood still.
His face inched closer, breath warm against her lips—
BEEP! A car horn blared outside.
They broke apart, startled.
Without a word, they walked to the car. He opened the door for her, and she stepped in. He followed.
She looked out the window the entire ride.
He only looked at her.
