"Hello... That clothes means you're from the Order, right?"
"Yes, my name is Phoebe of the Order. Could you tell me your name?"
Name... ah right. It's been a while since she's used her real name, hasn't she?
Now that she think about it, it's been a while since anyone had used her real name.
Since all she had was online friends, all of them call her by her online persona, Katsuri.
Of course, since she's not Japanese, nobody actually thinks of that as her real name, which makes it a perfect persona.
But if anyone were to ask which name she prefers?
"My name is Katsuri. Pleasure to meet you, Phoebe."
"Yes, pleasure to meet you too!" Phoebe replied in a louder voice.
"What were you doing with the echoes?"
Echoes, they're what those creatures she was talking to is called.
"Ah... so you saw that. Hehe, it's quite embarrassing to say but there used to be 3 of them, but one disappeared and we are trying to search for them..."
"Would you like a helping hand? I happen to have a lot of free time right now."
"That would be nice but I can't burden someone else with my selfish desire. I'm fine on my own."
Katsuri glanced behind the girl as she could see the two echoes looking right at her.
'...Gonna need to get used to their appearance quick.'
Since she's going to be meeting a lot of them from now on.
"Is that so? Then, can you point me towards the general direction of the Ragunna City?"
Ragunna City, the location the Rover first come to in Rinascita. It is practically the only city introduced in Rinascita currently.
Since she met Phoebe, it's quite obvious she's transported to Rinascita.
Which means she won't be meeting some other characters...
Ah... She really wanted to meet Shorekeeper...
But that's alright.
For now, she just really needed a roof over her head, it's fine even if there's no walls.
She had stayed awake for practically 3 days farming non stop for Astrites.
Any longer and she might just see some hallucinations.
"Oh? Could it be that you're a traveler?" Phoebe asked in curiosity.
Katsuri had to think of a response for a second.
"You could say that, yes."
"In that case, Ragunna should be located a dozen kilometers in that direction."
"Thank you."
...
Did she heard that right?
A dozen... which means 12 kilometers?
Woman, can't you just shower me in cold shower instead!?
But looking at Phoebe's smiling face, Katsuri can't help but keep her frustration to herself.
After all, she did agree that she's a traveler, 12 kilometers shouldn't be that far.
But in reality she's not. She's a regular person without a traveling experience nor a Tacet mark!
And even if she wanted to get a Tacet mark... She doesn't know how to!
She didn't delve too deep into the lore so she doesn't actually know how a person gets their Tacet mark!
It could be from birth, but it could also be passed down from families...!
'Ugh!'
It felt like she got hit by an arrow.
Imagine being transported to the world of the last video game you played but without the plot armor of a main character.
Isn't it a futile effort?
[Wuthering Waves]
It had been half an hour since Katsuri parted ways with Phoebe.
Fortunately, she hasn't met any hostiles echoes as of yet.
Most of them were pretty friendly and curious, if not a little bit cautious towards her.
She even thought of asking one of the echoes for a ride to Ragunna City.
But of course they were wild echoes, so none of them actually agreed, at least from what she could tell...
So now she's just walking straight towards the pointed location Phoebe had given.
She had been feeling thirsty since early but that's not really that big of an issue right now.
She's just extremely lethargic. She needs to keep moving at all time because she thought that if she relaxes herself even for a little bit she'd immediately fall asleep.
And doing that in the wilds? Bad idea, no need to think of the outcomes.
"Sigh... Should I have followed Phoebe, after all?"
There's no signs of civilization in the distance yet, at most she could see ruins and mountains.
With the pace she's moving, she doubt she had covered even one kilometer.
She doesn't have that useful thing, you know.
The Grapple that could somehow grapple empty air.
Perhaps having it could easily help her in her endeavor, going over unstable terrains and all.
But no~
She's stuck with her two mortal legs that can't even be by itself without twisting their own ankles.
Her feet had been aching.
Not that she could do anything about it.
Katsuri was still thinking of her current predicament when suddenly she heard a roar.
Feeling her body shakes from the chills, she turned her head towards the sound...
No wait, she didn't turn them. Because the sound came from the front.
"Could it be another curious echo...?" She grabbed her own hands in anxiety.
BOOM BOOM
The sounds of concrete against the ground echoed from the same place the roar came from.
It dawned on her.
Her luck had ran out, after all.
