Chapter 3 - The Battle of the Weak. Part 1

'I need to get away.'

This was her immediate thoughts as her ears absorbed the sounds of fighting.

This world is not safe. While it does contains some of her favorite fictional characters, she is not a person that could survive this world.

She did not learn any self-defense art, nor does she have a weapon on her person.

The things she did have are her knowledge on the game. Even then, those doesn't help much if she's dead.

So the logical thing to do here was to run away.

And she tried to do so, she really did...

That was before a sudden shadow covered her head, heading behind her.

Boom

Katsuri slowly turned her head towards the source of the sound. It was a massive floating eyes with massive hats, all in purple.

The two hands that accompanied it both seemed sentient.

And they... seemed to be targeting her now that she's in their sight.

Meanwhile its original adversary, the floating orb which looked like it should belong to a gold shop was now behind her.

A predicament she got herself into.

Or was it something the world get her into?

Either way, she's right in the middle of a fight between echoes... No. These are hostiles.

They are not Echoes, these are Tacet Discords or in short, TD.

While she doesn't know how they form, she do know that all the echoes she had seen on the way was the result of killing these guys.

Since they fed on frequencies, they could be categorized as Chaotic Evil. They practically attacks everything and anything they see as long as it contains frequencies.

Of course those includes humans.

And she's one of them.

"Ok, I might be dreaming right now, this really doesn't seem like a real scenario. Perhaps if I closed my eyes long enough they'd disappear."

She did so, but when she opened her eyes, they're still there.

And they rushed at her, competing against one another for her frequencies.

She jumped out of the way.

"Oi! I'm still talking over here! If you want to eat me at least let me finish talking first!"

She exclaimed in anger, but that didn't stop the assault. The to TDs continued on as if her words held no meaning.

"Ah... I'm sorry alright! Listen here! I'll give each of you a limb, how about that? Wouldn't that be nice?! One for everybody!"

She ducked under the orb's scissor-like slash, as they floating eyeball tackled it over, giving her a moment to breath.

"Hah, can't you guys go to someone else instead? Why me..."

The floating eyeball rushed towards her, it was quick. Had she not react in time and moved out of the way she'd be a smashed cheese.

"Whatever... Since it's like this anyways, nothing much I can do."

Katsuri began panting after running out of breath. It was not a secret that she doesn't exercise.

All these action is already taking a toll on her body.

But she can't afford a rest.

A second later, she jumped forward.

Behind her, the two floating blade from the orb had just finished their attack.

If she didn't dodge that one, she would've turned into Kat/Suri.

 She looked around.

All that running around had led her to an empty ruins that looked like it stands on its last legs.

It felt like a single push on one of the pillars would lead to it crushing in on itself.

But this is great. It's a spot to hide from them.

She took notice of a massive rock formation, there was a small crack that looked to be human sized.

Quickly moving her exhausted body, she hid inside.

Boom! Boom!

The sounds of massive impacts from the battles between the two Tacet Discords.

While it was fortunate their attention towards her is now gone, she can't help but laments her own fate.

While sitting down in darkness, she felt something poking her waist.

Glancing towards it, a handle.

It was a sword handle.

Looking at the way it's stuck under the rubbles, it seems like the blade was still intact.

It felt like a light bulb appeared above her head.

"This... is at least better than nothing!"

So she tried to pull the sword out but it wouldn't budge.

After trying it a couple more times, she started getting desperate.

The sounds of fighting was getting closer each second. It felt like at any moment they might crash on her shelter.

"Agh!"

She pulled on the handle with all her might. And at the next moment, it finally left the rubbles, right into her hands.

At the sudden lack of resistance, Katsuri staggered and hit her head on the rock above her head.

But instead of grimacing in pain, she smiled.

At the very least, she could defend herself now.
