Chapter 4 - The Battle of the Weak. Part 2

Boom! Boom! Crash!

Her heartbeat quickened at the way the sounds of fighting were getting closer to her location.

Because while she did buy herself sometimes, she knew that this hiding spot wouldn't last long.

She knew one way or another she'd get caught up in this battle either way. Be it through her hiding spot being caught in the cross-fire or anything else.

So it was just a matter of time.

Fortunately, she got a weapon to defend herself with.

But...

"How in god's name am I supposed to deal damage to those guys with these tiny things?"

The sword was longer than she is tall, but that doesn't matter since she is pretty short anyways.

What matters is how much damage the weapon could deal and how effectively the user could utilize them.

And this sword... was pretty heavy.

Could it be that the reason she struggled to pull on it was not because it got stuck, but because it was so heavy?

When compared to the size of those two monstrosity, her weapon looked cute.

And combined with her height, it'd just be comical.

She slowly exited the crevice of the rock formation, the sound of metal dragging against concrete echoed through the empty ruins.

Suddenly, the fighting noises stopped.

Katsuri felt a... bad premonition.

It was as if... the world was against her.

And they are for sure not hiding it!

Her gaze met the two giant TDs, both were facing her.

"Uh, long time no see...?"

The wind picked up its pace, caressing her exposed neck.

She covered her eyes at the sudden change in wind speed.

But that was a mistake on her part.

As the next moment, the massive orb was in front of her, ready to slice her in two resembling a certain sorcerer.

Meanwhile behind it was the floating eyeball with comical hats which looked like it had been pushed away by something else, which was most probably the orb.

Everything happened quickly.

Katsuri had no real experience fighting.

She was just a normal person.

To be suddenly faced against two monstrosity... it was sort off uncanny how quickly a person's life could change.

It could be sudden debt, it could be the sudden death of all other family members in a crash, it could even be the sudden transportation of your physical self into another world filled with monsters and bandits!

Oh wait, that last one was referring to herself.

And that was it.

Her vision tilted, slowly turning her orientation upside down.

Then she woke up.

She had just hit her head on the rock after pulling out the sword.

She was supposed to be grinning.

But right now, the smile didn't exist.

Only inexplicable horror.

She felt like barfing but she held herself back.

She felt the back of her neck burning.

Pressing a palm over it, she wondered what could it be.

Looking at her empty palm, she looked around.

No mirrors.

So she put the thought in the back of her mind.

There were more pressing matters at hand.

That was until she looked down on the ground, where she had placed her long sword.

Well, what used to be a long sword.

It was now a pair of... guns?

Indeed they were.

She pushed away any thoughts, focusing her attention at the two weapon.

Caressing them, she thought of the meanings of these changes.

"...I've got no clue."

She was not Sherlock Holmes. She did not study about the lore of the world therefore she wasn't able to concoct a theory on about anything that was happening.

So she just went along with it, the way she's used it.

Pressing her palms onto the handles... they fit just nice.

Perhaps after getting out of these predicaments, she'd be able to make sense of the things happening.

About the reason she's here.

About the way she got here.

About the way she survived being sliced in half.

All of them, she'll find a reason to them.

Nothing could happen without a cause.

But first...

BOOM BOOM

The fight had arrived at her doorstep.

At least she was right in her first judgement that she'd be caught in the cross-fire either way.
