Chapter 4 - Chapter 4:A Glimpse into Her World

When Syaoran stepped out in Fang's father's clothes, Fang was stunned. The outfit hung loosely on him, but it oddly suited him, blending perfectly with the modern world. She clapped her hands, laughing.

"Wow, Syaoran! You look perfect. You should've been a model! Why were you even hiding in the mountains?"

Syaoran tilted his head. "What's a model?"

Fang chuckled and began walking. He followed her eagerly, asking questions about everything he saw — streetlights, signs, even vending machines. Fang patiently explained each thing, like a personal tour guide.

They stopped by a convenience store, and Syaoran stood outside, marveling at the automatic doors. Later, when they reached her school, heads turned. Students and even teachers couldn't help but stare at him.

Fang nudged him with her elbow. "Your face alone made you famous. Unbelievable."She gave him a thumbs up.

Syaoran rolled his eyes. "Just go to class already."

Fang's friends swarmed her, whispering. "Who is that?"

She gave an awkward smile. "He's my distant relative."

She waved at Syaoran, who gave her an unimpressed look before walking back to the mountains. He spent the morning using his powers to search for clues to return home, but found nothing.

That evening, Fang returned with two buns. Syaoran was sitting quietly, facing the orange sky. She called out, "Come eat!"

He nodded but didn't move. So Fang walked over and offered him a bun.

"What is this?" he asked.

"It's a little plain. If you want meat, go hunt some yourself."

He shook his head and began eating silently.

Fang sat beside him. "Why are you staying in the mountains? Don't you have a home?"

Syaoran smirked. "It's fate that I'd be asked this question... again." His voice softened. "I came from far away. When the time is right, I'll return."

Fang looked down. "When?"

He glanced at her. "It'll take time."

"Then why are you staying with me?" he added, teasing.

Fang smiled faintly. "Same reason. I'm homeless too."

He blinked, surprised. "What about your relatives?"

"I don't even know where they live," she said. "My parents never let me out."

His gaze softened. "Then… how do you take care of yourself?"

"I have a scholarship. And I work part-time. It's enough for now."

He looked at her in admiration and gently patted her head. She smiled back.

That night, they fell asleep under the stars. But Fang began murmuring in her sleep, her forehead sweating. She reached for Syaoran's shirt, clinging tightly. He woke up, wiped her face, and placed a calming hand on her head.

But the moment his palm touched her forehead, something surged through him — a strange energy.

He gasped.

His strength was restored, more than before. Power rushed through his veins, yet Fang lay peacefully asleep.

"How does she have this…?" he whispered. "She's supposed to be a normal human…"
