Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5:A House That Feels Like Home

The next day, when Fang woke up, she turned to tap Syaoran—but, once again, he wasn't there. Rubbing her eyes, she slowly opened them and froze in shock. A wooden house stood in front of her.

"But… this house wasn't here yesterday," she whispered to herself, confused.

Just then, Syaoran popped his head out of the doorway. "Fang! Come here."

Still dazed, she walked over. "Did you build this?" she asked in disbelief.

He nodded, clearly pleased with himself. "Of course. Come see it."

As she stepped inside, her jaw dropped. The interior was much bigger than the outside. Her eyes widened, and she covered her mouth in astonishment. "How did you do this?"

Syaoran shrugged casually. "I'm a strong man. I built it using my… knowledge."

Fang laughed softly. "Not bad," she said. "But if you want to make it more homey, I'll need a few things from my house."

Syaoran narrowed his eyes. "You want to go back there? Alone? I'm not coming with you this time."

Fang raised a playful brow. "I didn't ask you to. You can stay here and do your work."

She turned and began walking down the mountain. But when she broke into a run, laughter bubbling out of her, she heard footsteps chasing her.

"Fang! Wait for me!" Syaoran shouted, running after her.

When they reached her house, it was empty. Fang slipped inside quickly and gathered her belongings while Syaoran stood guard outside, keeping watch for any sign of her parents. Once she had everything, they hurried back to the mountain and began arranging the new items in the house.

Fang pulled out a bank card and held it thoughtfully. Syaoran noticed and tilted his head. "What's that?"

"This? It's my scholarship card," Fang said.

He blinked. "That's money?"

Fang rolled her eyes. "No, dummy. It holds money—it's not the money."

Syaoran looked offended. "Then how do you get the money out of it?"

Fang ignored his question and handed him some clothes. "Go change. I'm bringing you somewhere."
