Chapter 18 - CHAPTER 18:The Power Within Her

On Earth, Fang was still waiting—for him.

She hadn't returned to college in weeks. Every day, she sat under the same tree where they last parted, as though she'd left a part of herself behind. Her head hung low, silent tears tracing down her cheeks. Her heart was heavy with longing.

Suddenly, the stillness broke.

A rush of wind whirled around the mountains, unsettling the trees. "Birds burst into the sky, scattering in a panic—like nature itself sensed danger." Fang's head jerked up, eyes wide. Panic rose in her chest as she stood and looked around, unsure of what had disturbed the peace.

A lone wolf stepped out from the woods.

It was massive—its presence overwhelming. As it moved closer, Fang's eyes glistened with hope. Her lips trembled as she whispered, "Syaoran… is that you? You've finally come back to me…"

But the creature didn't stop. It broke into a run, charging toward her with menacing speed.

Fang's heart dropped.

"No…" she gasped, backing away. "You're not Syaoran."

She turned and bolted into the forest, her breath ragged, twigs snapping underfoot. The wolf was relentless, crashing through branches behind her.

Halfway into the forest, Fang stumbled, clutching her chest, her breath catching in her throat. She ducked behind a tree, praying she'd lost it.

But the wolf was there—sniffing, circling, inching closer.

Then, in a blur, it lunged through the air toward her.

"Fang screamed, throwing her arms over her face."

And then it happened.

The stone embedded in her heart pulsed—unleashing a surge of ancient magic. Light flowed through her veins, radiating from her outstretched hand. The blast of power erupted in all directions, tearing through the forest and disintegrating the wolf mid-air. Everything around her turned to glowing ash and smoke.

Panting, she slowly opened her eyes, her entire body trembling. The trees were gone. The wolf—nothing but mist.

"What… just happened?" she whispered in disbelief.

Then, a voice—deep and resonant—whispered in her ear, though no one was there.

"You are a god… You were born to save this world…"

The voice echoed with a haunting laugh and faded into the wind.

Fang stood frozen. "What…? Who are you? Why would you say that?" Her voice cracked. "I'm not a god—I'm just… me."

But the moon above glowed brighter, like it was watching her.

🌌 Meanwhile, in the Lycan Realm…

That night, Syaoran sat at the dinner table, chewing absentmindedly on raw meat. But his heart wasn't in it. Every bite reminded him of her.

He set the bowl down, his eyes shadowed with emotion.

"Syaoran," the Queen asked gently, "Why aren't you eating?"

"I'm not hungry, Mother," he replied, his tone distant.

She narrowed her eyes. "Your Majesty… you've been acting strange ever since you returned. Did something happen while you were gone?"

But he didn't answer. He rose from the table and left in silence.

The Queen sighed heavily, turning to her personal maid. "Even his favorite dish can't bring him back to himself. What's happened to him?"

The maid offered a soft smile. "Your Majesty… give him time. His heart is heavy. When it clears, he'll return to you."

The Queen nodded slowly, her expression somber.

🕸️ Somewhere Else — In the Shadowlands…

In a dark, smoky chamber filled with cobwebs and malevolent energy, Lucian watched Fang through his scrying mirror. His eyes gleamed with sinister delight.

"She possesses the world-changing stone," he muttered. "She doesn't even know the power she holds."

A cruel smile twisted his lips.

"If we bring her to our world… I can take it from her. And with it, destroy the Lycan clan—once and for all. Then I will become immortal."

His laughter echoed through the shadows, chilling and cruel.
