Chapter 3 - She wants to break up the engagement

Emma sneezed as soon as she got home.

Her mother, Amelia was angry and worried. "Emma, did that boy from the Taylor Family bully you again?

Look at you, all wet. Why didn't he take care of you and at least send you back home?"

In the past, when Amelia would nag like this, Emma would try to defend William in every possible way, finding excuses and saying good things about him, just to make her family accept and like him.

Sometimes, Emma would get angry and argue with her family, which happened countless times.

But now, Emma didn't do that anymore.

Not to mention that William was not a good person to begin with, the most important thing was that she felt guilty in her heart.

For her, even if she had to listen to her mother's nagging all day, she felt happy. It was better than facing that cold tombstone in her previous life.

Thinking of this, Emma's nose tingled, and she hugged Amelia's arm, feeling the warmth and tenderness of her mother's body. After a while, she suddenly said, "Mom, I want...to break off the engagement."

"Break off the engagement?"

Amelia was stunned. She had said this to her daughter before, but it was strongly opposed.

After all, her silly daughter was too fond of that boy from the Taylor Family. To the point of being obsessed, and wouldn't listen to anyone's words.

And now, she was the one who proposed to cancel the engagement?

"Emma..."

Amelia felt even more heartbroken, thinking that her daughter was truly hurt: "Have you thought it through? You won't regret it in the future?"

"Absolutely not."

Emma smiled faintly, and her delicate and charming face had a different look than before: "There are plenty of good men in this world. What is William anyway?"

These words revealed her inherent pride. Amelia was extremely gratified. feeling that her daughter was different from before, as if she had grown up in an instant.

"Hurry up, drink the ginger tea and take a bath. Don't catch a worse cold tomorrow."

Amelia urged repeatedly, "You still need to take medicine after the bath. Although your foot is only sprained and not serious, you can't be careless."

"I know!"

Emma obediently answered and was helped upstairs by the servant.

When passing by her younger brother Noah's room, she opened the door directly and saw her eight-year-old brother playing games in bed. He quickly hid his game console and scolded her in a grumpy tone, "Why didn't you knock! Rude sister!"

Emma didn't say anything, just looked at her younger brother.

Her gaze was gentle, even with tenderness and love.

In her previous life, her younger brother was poisoned and became mute and foolish for life!

Looking at Noah now, he was lively and often acted tough towards her like an adult, with a sharp tongue but secretly taking care of her in various ways.

How could she argue with her own younger brother?

Noah felt a bit uncomfortable under her gaze and muttered, "Why are you acting silly today? Did someone bully you again?"

Ever since Emma returned home today, she had been hugging and kissing him and their mother, except for their father who had not yet returned from work. It was really strange.

"No, I just wanted to say that I love you, little brother."

Emma blinked her eyes and saw a pillow flying towards her. She burst into laughter and happily left the room.

As Noah watched the closed door, his discomfort faded away. He picked up his notebook and typed away at lightning speed, muttering under his breath, "Damn William, how dare you bully my sister. I'll make sure you regret it!"

A few minutes later, William's computer was hacked.

Completely hacked.

....

After taking a relaxing bath, Emma lay in her room with a maid applying ointment to her wounds. She smiled and took the ointment, saying, "I'll do it myself."

The maid left. Emma got up and sat in front of the dressing table.

In the mirror, she saw herself at eighteen.

Fair-skinned and beautiful, with red lips and white teeth. Her features were exquisite and delicate, with a face full of collagen that seemed to be able to produce water. She inherited all the advantages of her parents and had been the most outstanding and stunning person in the crowd since she was young.

Unfortunately, in her previous life, she was so lowly that she wasted her beautiful face for an unworthy man.

Emma smirked and smiled slowly.

At this moment, there was a noisy commotion downstairs.

Finally, they have arrived.

Emma sneered and walked towards the stairs.

On the first floor of the villa, Isabella was sweetly wrapped around Amelia, affectionately calling out, "Auntie, look at this scarf I bought for you. It really complements your temperament. Do you like it, Auntie?"

If others saw this, they would think it was a harmonious scene.

So heartwarming.

Emma stood at the staircase on the second floor, her arms crossed and leaning against the railing, but her eyes were full of coldness.

Isabella's family moved from the countryside to the city a year ago.

In other words, it was because Emma's father was soft-hearted and felt that they were brothers after all, so they should help and support each other.

Under the various flattery of the Harris Family, they took in the family of three.

They were treated to delicious food and drink, given pocket money, and even had Second Uncle parachuted into their Miller Family enterprise as a deputy supervisor.

Perhaps such a comfortable life made them increasingly greedy.

This shameless family turned the tables and treated everything in Miller Family as their own, and even had the intention to kill to take it for themselves.

The most ridiculous thing was that her Second Uncle Thomas was just a cousin's Second Uncle.

It seemed that people were never satisfied.

However, this family was quite clever and always managed to please the Miller couple, just like Isabella who was trying so hard to please them now.

Emma came downstairs.

As soon as her footsteps sounded, Amelia and Isabella both looked up.

Emma slowly descended the stairs, wearing a high-end designer dress. She had a beautiful figure and a stunning face without any makeup. Her whole demeanor was different from her previous arrogance, becoming more lazy and noble.

Seeing their looks, Emma smiled.

This smile was enchanting, like a mandala flower with poison and thorns. It was also like a pear blossom blooming on a branch after the rain, elegant and plain.

The combination of these two deadly temptations was extremely enchanting.

If the previous Emma was just a pretty vase, then the current Emma not only had a stunning appearance but also had an extraordinary temperament and charm that made people's hearts beat faster.

Isabella was a little dumbfounded.

For some reason, she felt that the current Emma would bring her great threat.

Especially from Emma's black and white clear almond eyes, she felt a chilling sensation that went straight to her bones...

Amelia hurried over to her daughter as she came down the stairs, scolding and worrying, "Your foot isn't better yet, how could you come down by yourself?"

She reached out to help her.

The Miller family doted on their daughter so much that Emma was undoubtedly seen as a rich and pampered young lady born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

Feeling neglected, Isabella was somewhat dissatisfied and even jealous. She believed that she was no worse than Emma, but because of their vastly different backgrounds. Emma was born to be superior while she had to grovel and please others.
