Chapter 4 - Tear off the face

Why should that be?

Isabella gritted her teeth with hatred in her heart, but maintained her usual gentle smile as she approached Emma, wanting to help her sit down.

"Sister, how did you hurt your foot so carelessly?

Didn't Brother William protect you?"

She called him "Brother William" affectionately.

The point was that Isabella knew full well that Emma's confession to William had been rejected that morning, and deliberately said this to hurt her.

Unfortunately, in the previous life, Emma had sincerely regarded Isabella as her own sister, sharing everything with her and seeking her advice on how to please William.

The result was that William was becoming more and more disgusted with her...

Looking back now, there were signs of it all along.

Emma brushed off Isabella's attempt to help her and sat down on the sofa, saying nonchalantly, "So you like William, huh? Well, you can have him."

She smiled, her expression as innocent and deceiving as ever.

But Isabella suddenly shuddered.

"Sister, what are you talking about? I've never had any improper thoughts about Brother William. You know I only want you to marry the person you love.

I'm happy for you!"

Her tone was so generous and understanding.

Emma raised an eyebrow and suddenly asked, "Do you know what the biggest advantage of your family is?"

"What...what is it?"

"Your dad has thick skin and can justify anything, your mom is greedy and still thinks she's right, and you...you're so full of fake sentimentality that you're even starting to believe it yourself, aren't you?"

Emma sneered, not holding back at all.

No one knew how much she hated this family. She wished she could kill Isabella right now.

Compared to what they had done, what did her words matter?

Isabella was stunned, her face full of grievance.

"Sister, how could you say that..."

Emma remained indifferent to their performance, her cold gaze sweeping over Isabella.

From head to toe, Isabella was dressed in expensive designer clothes.

"Stop pretending, don't you have any sense of shame? My dad brought your family of three to our house and treated you like ancestors. Now that you've settled in the city, isn't it time for you to leave my house?"

Out of courtesy, the Miller family had never said such things before.

But today, Emma not only said it, but also mocked them for being thick-skinned and refusing to leave.

Thomas and Scarlett, carrying large and small shopping bags, had just entered the house and heard this. Their faces didn't look good.

"Emma, are you insinuating that Second Uncle and Second Aunt have taken advantage of your family?" Harris Family couple stepped forward, looking like they were going to demand an explanation.

Emma smiled instantly, "Isn't it?"

They say that those who are soft-spoken are easy to be taken advantage of, but this family not only didn't restrain themselves, but also acted arrogantly and tyrannically.

Isabella's eyes turned red, and she stepped forward to stop her parents, saying in a soft and aggrieved voice, "Dad, Mom, don't be angry. My sister didn't mean it. It's our fault. Shall we leave now?"

Thomas couple fell silent after being rebuked by Isabella.

Emma watched the scene coldly, knowing that Isabella was using her usual trick of retreat to advance. Anyone would feel sorry for her.

As the situation became tense, Amelia quickly intervened, "It's nothing, it's nothing. Emma doesn't know any better. We all live together as a family, so let's not quarrel."

After Madam Miller stepped in, the Harris couple's expressions improved slightly, but they still refused to let it go. "Emma doesn't consider us as family," they complained.

"We took care of her when she was young, but now that she's grown up, she turns her back on us."

The sarcasm in their words was too much for Madam Miller to bear. In defense of her daughter, she retorted, "Enough is enough. You've worked hard buying all these things. Go rest in your room."

Emma almost burst out laughing. Her mother was always gentle and kind, like a woman from the Jiangnan region. But even the gentlest person has a limit.

Emma and her brother were her mother's limit.

It was clear that Madam Miller was protecting her children. However, the Harris couple had nothing to say in response to her rebuke.

The anger was rising within them, but they dared not say too much.

Just then, the sound of a car outside could be heard.

The servant exclaimed, "Master is back."

Benjamin walked in, dressed in a sharp suit, looking confident and full of energy.

Thomas immediately complained, "Brother, look at your spoiled daughter. She wants to kick us out!"

Scarlett added fuel to the fire, "We are just outsiders in her eyes. Oh... it's a pity that Grandpa and Grandma died early. If they were still alive, they would be heartbroken to see such an unfilial granddaughter."

Isabella cried, feeling wronged, "Uncle, it must be my fault that my sister is unhappy. That's why she scolded us."

They exaggerated the situation.

Seeing this, Benjamin's brow furrowed.

He was always a person who valued family and relationships. Having three more people for dinner was just a matter of spending a little more money.

After all, they were siblings, why bother about it too much?

He was about to scold his daughter for being unreasonable, but as soon as he saw Emma's expression, he panicked.

"Hey, my dear daughter, why are you crying? Who bullied you? I'll go beat him up!"

Benjamin was a big shot outside, with a prominent position in the business world, but his only weakness was his fear of his wife, his love for his daughter, and his affection for his son.

Nothing in the world could compare to a single tear from his daughter.

Seeing that the situation was hopeless, Thomas couldn't help but say, "It's just a tear, why are you so worked up?"

Immediately, Mr. Benjamin retorted, "Is that a tear from my daughter? No, it's a pearl, it's a diamond!"

Emma, who always felt like crying whenever she saw her father, couldn't hold back her tears after hearing this.

In her previous life, she remembered her father's once-black hair had already turned half-white.

At that time, the Miller Family Group was facing a major crisis, and she, who was still young and ignorant, took the blame and went to jail at the critical moment.

Under the double blow, her father was so angry that he was hospitalized and, in the end... had his oxygen tube pulled out by Isabella, separating them forever.

Now, looking at her father in his forties, he was still in his prime, well-preserved, and still as elegant as ever.

Emma rushed into her father's arms, "Dad, I miss you so much..."

"Stinky girl, weren't you annoyed with me yesterday?" Benjamin was both angry and amused.

"No, never again, I promise!" Emma was unusually obedient, making Mr. Nan laugh heartily. "Let's see how long you can be good for."

And so, the little incident passed.

The Harris family cried and complained for half a day, but Emma didn't shed a single tear, not even a valuable one.

Out of brotherly love, Benjamin never had the thought of kicking the Harris family out.

Never.

Emma knew this well, so the little prank today was just a way to ignite the fire.

She wanted to make the Harris family angry, so angry that they would want to kill her, so angry that their true colors would be exposed.

When that time comes, she'll peel off their hypocritical skin!
