The moment the words left Dante's mouth "She took our son," felt the floor beneath me vanish.
I didn't breathe. I didn't speak.
I just ran.
I tore through the palace like a storm. Room after room, door after door,I threw them open, ignoring the startled maids and guards. My hands trembled as I yanked back curtains, flung open wardrobes, pushed past people calling my name.
"Antonia! Antonia you bitch !" I screamed, my voice echoing down the halls. "Where is she?! Where is my baby?!"
"She's not in her room!" one of the guards called.
"I checked the south wing….nothing!"
"She's not in the garden, either. She's gone!"
Dante caught up to me at the top of the main stairwell. "She's not here."
"Then where is she?!" I demanded, chest heaving.
