The mask fit perfectly.
Not too tight, not too loose. Just enough to conceal my identity and blend seamlessly with the hospital staff. I adjusted the nurse's uniform, ensuring every detail was in place. The gloves, the badge, the shoes…all pristine, all part of the illusion.
I had prepared for this moment , studying the routines, the schedules, the faces. Nurse Amanda was predictable, always on time, always diligent and vulnerable making her the perfect target and Elena did trust her which was my greatest asset.
I moved through the hospital corridors with purpose, my steps measured and confident. No one spared me a second glance. I was just another nurse on duty.
Reaching the pediatric wing, I paused at the entrance, taking a deep breath and there she was , my dear cousin guarding her child like her life depended on it .
Which would make my plan difficult and that was where my alibi comes in as nurse Mary.
