[Day Two]
At Danzo's command, a Root shinobi removed his mask and entered the secret chamber, attempting to communicate with you.
Following your prearranged strategy, you pretended to have lost parts of your memory due to nearly drowning. Your speech was hesitant and broken, but you managed to carry on a shaky conversation. Fortunately, the Root shinobi noticed that although you spoke with difficulty, you were able to communicate through writing.
This observation was reported back to Danzo. After a brief moment of thought, he decided to carry out one final test.
If successful—even without you refining chakra or possessing any foundation in ninjutsu—he had ways to fast-track your development, to mold you into an Uchiha even stronger than Sasuke, who was slowly grinding away his time in the Academy.
More importantly, you would become his Uchiha. One that belonged solely to Danzo.
Soon, the assassination attempt came right on schedule. That very morning, the Root shinobi who had been carefully tending to your needs turned into a cold-blooded killer. While delivering your food, he suddenly drew a kunai from beneath the tray and lunged at your throat.
If you were truly a spy hiding your strength—an enemy infiltrating Root—you'd definitely retaliate at this moment.
But you had long since predicted the twisted logic of Danzo, that old snake. As the kunai rushed at your neck, you didn't even try to dodge. Instead, with a look of sorrow, you whispered:
"Why...?"
Then, you let the blade stab into your neck without resistance.
Stop!
At that very moment, the heavy chamber doors slammed open. A bandaged, one-armed old man stormed into the room. Danzo.
Behind him, a large group of Root operatives surged in, instantly pinning the would-be assassin to the ground.
Clutching the bleeding wound on your neck, you panicked, your gaze darting around the room in fear.
Fortunately, Danzo quickly called for a medical-nin, who rushed over to stop the bleeding. He then leaned down beside you, his face stiff, and offered awkward verbal comfort.
You saw clearly—Danzo truly intended to take you under his wing. So you played along, allowing yourself to be "comforted," and began clinging to the old man as if he were your only anchor. You deliberately avoided everyone else in Root, save for the medical-nin and Danzo himself.
Seeing your obedient behavior, Danzo seemed to drift into a brief memory, but he quickly returned to the present. He placed a firm hand on your head, ruffling your hair, then turned and left the chamber with his group of Root shinobi.
At dinnertime, you noticed that your food portion had significantly increased—two eggs and a chicken leg had been added. At last, your heart settled. It seemed you had finally passed Danzo's test of trust.
After dinner, you simply lay on the floor, closed your eyes, and continued to guide your bloodline power. When fatigue hit, you let yourself drift into sleep.
...
Meanwhile, deep within Root's stronghold, Danzo—wearing his Hokage-style hat—was hunched over his desk, scribbling away at the compiled intelligence reports from across the shinobi world.
He tossed the last document onto a stack in the corner.
Wiping sweat from his brow, the elderly man continued to work in the stifling, windowless room. It was no easy feat for someone his age to push through this kind of mental labor at night, fully suited up.
But he accepted it willingly. If he could not become Hokage, he would never allow himself to relax.
After returning a Sarutobi-style pipe to his drawer, Danzo waved his hand. A burst of Wind Release chakra dispersed all the lingering smoke in the chamber.
He then pulled a book titled Root Shinobi Training Guidelines from the bookshelf and cross-referenced it with the Uchiha Shinobi Development Manual that was already laid open on the desk. Occasionally, he marked and annotated the pages with a brush.
[Day Three]
After a night passed, Danzo smiled faintly at the pile of densely written papers on his desk. He rolled them up, tucked them into his sash, and stepped out the door.
The heavy stone door creaked open. You had just woken from a restful sleep and looked up to see Danzo standing at the entrance with a group of Root operatives behind him.
Under their watchful eyes, you and Danzo sat in the secret chamber and had breakfast together. During the meal, Danzo casually asked about your past.
You scratched your head, pretending to struggle as you recalled fragmented memories of living with Granny Yukina, then slowly stammered through the story.
But it was the truth. At only three years old, your life had been incredibly simple.
The problem was, from your appearance, you looked more like five or six. And to conceal your existence, Root had destroyed the entire Uchiha district—meaning even Danzo couldn't investigate your background.
So when you truthfully told your story, it sounded like the hazy memories of a three- or four-year-old. To Danzo, it was clear: amnesia.
And that... was a good thing.
You glanced at Danzo's missing arm and, with curiosity, reached out to touch it, asking what had happened.
Danzo didn't get angry. But he didn't answer directly either. With a stern tone, he said only:
"A shinobi's purpose is to fight. And fighting means blood will be shed."
Your eyes lit up. You declared that you wanted to become a shinobi too! You wanted to fight, just like Danzo!
Danzo chuckled and gently tapped your forehead.
"I'll come check on you again this afternoon. Be ready to officially become a shinobi."
You nodded enthusiastically and watched him leave.
...
That afternoon, the secret chamber door opened once again.
This time, Danzo entered alone.
After the door closed behind him, he sat across from you and solemnly declared:
"It's time for your initiation as a shinobi."
You nodded with determination. In your heart, you had already decided—Danzo would be your only elder, and no matter what, you would obey.
Then, Danzo slowly removed the bandage over his right eye, revealing a blood-red Mangekyō Sharingan.
At this point in time, Danzo had not yet transplanted multiple Sharingan into his right arm. If you suddenly lashed out with full power, you stood a decent chance of killing him and taking that Mangekyō.
But you didn't.
You wanted to experience the power of Kotoamatsukami for yourself.
Following Danzo's instructions, you met the gaze of the Mangekyō Sharingan. Its pattern began to rotate slowly.
You knew what this meant—Kotoamatsukami had begun.
A strange, imperceptible power quietly slipped into your spiritual world, attempting to brand your mind with a command:
"Loyalty to the one before you. Betrayal is forbidden. You are a blade in the hand of Root. Your life and death mean nothing."
But luckily, this wasn't your first time dealing with Mangekyō power. From the lingering ocular energy you'd absorbed from the ninja cats, to the semi-Mangekyō of Uchiha Setsuna, you'd already taken precautions.
Your mental defenses were strong from the start, and Danzo's version of Kotoamatsukami—short in duration and fast to recharge—wasn't as potent as the one in Itachi's eye, which could fully overwrite someone's will.
So the power of Kotoamatsukami crept forward at a snail's pace.
In fact, Danzo himself ran out of stamina first. Leaving you behind in the chamber, he hobbled out alone with the help of his cane.
But the moment the heavy door closed, you realized something chilling...
You might have underestimated the power of Kotoamatsukami after all.
