Honestly, Obadiah was starting to panic a little now.
He had always been an ordinary person. Normally, he only interacted with the high-tech gadgets developed by Stark. As for sorcery and other strange phenomena, he had absolutely no concept of them.
In this respect, Obadiah and Stark were actually quite similar. Both were fanatical believers in science.
The difference was that Stark had personally witnessed Mo slaughter an entire group of terrorists. These were heavily armed men who didn't even get a chance to fight back. They were completely wiped out in minutes. Even after getting shot in the head, Mo was completely fine. Having seen such bizarre things firsthand, Stark's worldview had long since been shattered and rebuilt. He realized there were many things in the world beyond his understanding.
Obadiah, on the other hand, had only heard rumors. He'd heard that Stark had been saved by a "wizard."
In his mind, "wizards" were just charlatans performing cheap magic tricks, like turning water into oil or spitting fireballs. Big deal. Could they stop bullets?
He hadn't expected... that they actually could.
So of course, he was panicking now.
Seeing Mo casually block bullets, Obadiah quickly pressed another button. The Iron Monger's shoulder plates popped open, and a missile slowly emerged.
"Bullets don't work, so now it's missiles?"
Mo glanced at Obadiah and casually waved his hand.
The crane on the left side of the lab was violently yanked into the air, then came crashing down heavily onto Obadiah.
Weighing over ten tons, the crane smashed right into him. Even the Iron Monger staggered back from the impact.
Immediately after, BOOM! A massive explosion engulfed him in flames.
It turned out the missile on the Iron Monger's shoulder had been struck before it could launch, which caused it to detonate.
The blast was tremendous. It knocked the Iron Monger flat on its back and sent parts flying everywhere.
"Ugh… agh..."
Seeing the Iron Monger get blown over, Tony struggled to make some noise, trying to attract Mo's attention. At this point, he was barely clinging to life. He desperately needed help.
"Oh right, almost forgot about you."
Noticing Stark weakly crawling around trying to get attention, Mo quickly pulled out the prototype arc reactor from his pocket.
"How do you install this thing? Do I just shove the light into your chest like Ultraman?"
"P-please… let me..."
Before Mo could figure it out, a female voice called out.
Turning, he saw Pepper Potts. She couldn't stand either, but she was gritting her teeth, crawling toward Stark.
"I... I helped Tony install it before..."
"Alright, you do it then."
Mo handed the arc reactor over to her.
Meanwhile, Obadiah was also starting to climb back to his feet.
Although the explosion had been powerful, the Iron Monger's armor was thick enough that Obadiah himself wasn't badly hurt.
"Wizard, I truly underestimated you."
Perhaps the heavy armor gave Obadiah a sense of security. He was visibly less panicked now.
"But here at Stark Industries, the power of technology is far stronger than you can imagine!"
"Oh really?"
Mo chuckled indifferently.
"Looks like I'll have to open your eyes, then."
The next second, before Obadiah could react, a faint purple glow lit up in Mo's palm. He made a downward slicing gesture in midair.
Obadiah froze, completely bewildered by this mysterious sorcery.
The next moment, his armor's alarm system blared.
He instinctively looked up, just in time to see the entire ceiling collapsing.
At the same time the ceiling came crashing down, there was a commotion at the door. Coulson and a few agents charged in.
"Huh? Where's Fury?"
Mo glanced over but didn't spot Nick Fury.
"Director Fury had other matters to attend to. He left already," Coulson said, gun raised. "He told us to handle things here. Where's the enemy? Escaped? Or neutralized?"
"Not done yet, but almost."
Mo pointed at Stark and Pepper on the ground.
"Take those two out of here first. Otherwise, they might get caught in the crossfire."
"Uh..."
Coulson hesitated, seeming unsure whether to follow Mo's orders.
"I'm officially a S.H.I.E.L.D. technical consultant now, technically your superior. Just do what I say unless you want to be fired."
"..."
Coulson opened his mouth, wanting to argue that a technical consultant wasn't a big deal.
But seeing Mo's smug expression, he wisely kept quiet and waved his hand.
"Take Mr. Stark and Miss Potts out of here."
Very quickly, the agents evacuated Stark and Potts from the underground lab.
Meanwhile, Obadiah once again climbed out of the rubble.
"You can't hurt me, wizard..."
Having been beaten down twice, Obadiah was furious.
Just as he shouted this, a giant machine suddenly hurtled toward him.
Obadiah immediately raised his arms to shield himself. He couldn't afford to get knocked down again.
But strangely, the heavy object didn't hit him.
Confused, he peeked out and saw the massive machine just floating there in midair.
Across the room, Mo also looked surprised.
"Hmm?"
Obadiah, seeing this, thought maybe Mo had finally realized how powerful the Iron Monger was. Maybe he was out of ideas?
The thought excited him.
Clearly, Tony's Iron Man suits were the pinnacle of power. Obadiah's bet had paid off.
But here's the real question:
Was Mo actually afraid of the Iron Monger?
In truth, no matter how strong the armor was, it couldn't be stronger than a real monster like the Abomination, right?
[System Notice: New Module Trait Detected. Access will be granted after research.]
What actually stunned Mo was this system notification.
"What... the hell?"
When Mo heard the system voice, he was momentarily stunned. He had no idea where this new module trait had come from.
If it was a reward for defeating a boss, then why hadn't the notification triggered earlier, when he first attacked Obadiah?
"Could it be... this weird machine?"
Mo suspiciously eyed the giant device floating in the Ender Force field.
Honestly, he didn't know what the machine was for, but judging by the situation, it seemed like this thing had triggered the new module trait.
He decided to pull the machine closer and examine it.
However, before he could move, Obadiah launched an attack, now emboldened, thinking Mo couldn't hurt him.
He smashed the machine into pieces, then charged directly at Mo.
"Shit!"
Seeing the strange machine get destroyed, Mo was instantly furious.
After all, loading modules and drawing lottery prizes was his only hope of returning to the Minecraft world. And now Obadiah had wrecked it?
No way he wasn't going to lose his temper.
"You're f***ing dead, you hear me?"
Mo's eyes narrowed dangerously.
Originally, he had only planned to capture Obadiah alive, but now he had clearly changed his mind.
With a thought, his Stand, Steve, pulled out some cobblestone and rapidly placed blocks around him.
In the blink of an eye, a bunch of one-meter cubes of rock appeared.
The next second, Mo lifted his hand upward.
The stone blocks floated into the air, then shot toward Obadiah like artillery shells.
Obadiah roared, dodging the first stone and punching aside the second.
Then the third block slammed hard into his chest.
Before he could regain his balance, the fourth, fifth, and all the other stones pelted him relentlessly, eventually sending the massive Iron Monger flying.
But it wasn't over yet.
Mo made a pulling motion.
The Iron Monger froze midair, then was yanked toward Mo at high speed.
"You think your tin can is cool?"
Yanking the Iron Monger in front of him, Mo grinned at Obadiah inside.
"The Ender Force field can't directly affect living beings. That's why when I fought the Abomination, I had to slowly chip away at him.
But you, you idiot, put yourself inside the perfect coffin."
With a final casual wave, Mo flung the Iron Monger into a nearby pile of rubble.
"You—!"
Obadiah struggled out of the wreckage, trying to speak.
But before he could finish, Mo raised both hands.
Instantly, the system's alarm sounded in Obadiah's helmet.
He glanced around and realized that at some point, two stone walls had appeared on either side of him.
"Wha—"
"Go meet your mother."
Mo clapped his hands together.
The two stone walls flared with purple light and smashed together violently.
BOOM!
Dust and debris exploded outward.
The entire underground lab shook violently, like it was about to collapse.
