Cherreads

Chapter 28 - Enchantment technique

Although Asor had a terrifying and hideous face, it was given by his race's bloodline. In fact, he was still very kind. Especially after learning that Stephen was the magician who had crippled Kerry, his feelings for Stephen became even better. Kerry became a mid-level swordsman by relying on resources. Although he had strength, his personal combat ability was insufficient. He was the last among the city Lord's guards. That was truly a disgrace of guarding.

Asol even told Stephen that the deaths of Buska and Kary would have no connection with Stephen at all. As for the chivalrous steel swordsman, although Asol was somewhat puzzled about his identity, he still believed Stephen's words - nonsense, the facts were right in front of him. He couldn't believe that all these people were killed by Stephen, could he?

Just as the two were talking, footsteps suddenly came. Stephen turned his head and saw that four more people had come from the thick forest. And the one leading the way was actually recognized by Stephen: it was the heroic female swordsman on a white horse he had seen at the window of the Moran Flower three or four months ago - the daughter of the city Lord, Effia.

The other three were all wearing armors similar to those of Asol.

When Stephen saw Effia, he suddenly remembered that the first time he saw Effia, he also saw four city Lord guards following behind her, among whom was an orc warrior. It seemed that these were the four people in front of him, right? It's just that beautiful women are easier to remember after all, so Stephen doesn't remember having seen Asol in the first place.

What happened here? Efia's eyes swept over Bousca and Carey as well as the burning wooden house in the distance, clearly startled. However, she quickly calmed herself down and asked.

"Miss Effia, here's the thing..."

Asol hurriedly recounted what had happened.

After hearing his words, Effia immediately showed an angry expression: "How dare this businessman named Bouska shamelessly kidnap someone?" Is his son still the guard of my city Lord's mansion? What a disgrace!

"Kerry has always been a disgrace to our city Lord's guards. I'm not at all surprised that he could do such a thing." One of the other three human guards sneered and said. He walked up to Kerry and looked him down a few times. "TSK TSK, this way of dying really suits him." While speaking, he suddenly looked at Stephen, "Little brother, you said a man who called himself the Steel Swordsman killed them?" There are no more than eight senior swordsmen in Stan City, and none of them claims to be an iron swordsman.

This human guard was clearly not as easily deceived as Asol, and there was a hint of suspicion on his face.

"Balman, you surely don't suspect that the hammerhead killed all these people here, do you?" Asol couldn't help laughing and said.

When these words were spoken, even Effia burst into laughter along with her, as if she had heard some super funny joke.

Damn it...

Stephen was so depressed in his heart. Was this thing so pleasant?

"No, no. Of course I know it couldn't have been done by this little brother." Balman smiled and shook his head, continuing to tell Stephen, "I'm just curious. It's impossible for a high-level swordsman to appear in Stan City out of the blue. You see, the title of a high-level swordsman needs to be registered with the Swordsman's association. I just want to know who this steel swordsman is. And judging from the way he killed the Buska father and son, it doesn't seem to be at the level of a high-level swordsman either."

Stephen had mentioned the title of "Steel Swordsman" just by chance. He didn't expect there would be so much trouble. He hurriedly said, "Perhaps that person wasn't a senior swordsman. He just wanted to satisfy his craving for a senior swordsman - he was wearing armor all the time and his appearance was all visible to me."

That's true. Balman nodded and agreed with Stephen's statement.

How could you be so embarrassed about this? Stephen had a very embarrassed expression on his face, and then changed his tone, "How are you going to compensate?"

Effia: "..." This can only be decided after I discuss it with my father.

By this time, several guards of the city Lord had already taken the long sword from Klay's abdomen and laid him side by side with Buska on the ground. Balman squatted beside Buska, reached out to touch his body, frowned, and then looked at Buska's hand. When he saw the white mark on Buska's ring finger, he looked at Stephen thoughtfully, shook his head and smiled. There was no further investigation into this matter.

Balman stayed here with another guard of the city Lord, while Stephen returned to the city with Effia, Asol and another guard of the city Lord.

It was only at this moment that Stephen realized he was actually on a hilltop outside Stan City.

On the way back, he was in the carriage of Bouska, which was now the property of the city Lord's mansion. Asol was in charge of driving, and Effia also got into the carriage. Looking at this heroic beauty in the same carriage as him, Stephen was still relatively calm. At most, he just quietly sized up her chest, which had made her soft armor puff up high... Of course, if this were the original hammerhead, one might just faint out of excitement and happiness.

While chatting aimlessly with Efia, Stephen also learned that Efia had just completed the inspection mission of the southern part of Stan City with the guards of the four city Lords. The main task was to check if there were any dangerous monsters lurking around. Due to Stan City's proximity to the Dark Forest, incidents of monsters attacking people occurred occasionally. The inspection mission was also a fixed task that had to be carried out every month, and it was also the responsibility of the City Lord's Mansion.

Efia has a very high talent for swordsmanship and is now a fifth-order swordsman. She comes to participate in every mission, also to hone herself.

This time we encountered a third-level wolf-toothed beast. It was really tough to deal with. Efia was also rather bored at the moment and recounted what she had seen and heard during this inspection mission. "Although we managed to kill this wolf-toothed beast without any danger in the end, unfortunately, my long sword was broken as a result."

Saying these words, Effia snapped out the long sword from her waist with a swish. The gleaming blade was originally covered with beautiful patterns, but now there was a black rust stain. Effia gently rubbed the rust stain with her fingers and continued, "The venom of the Wolf Tooth Beast is highly corrosive. The magic array attached to this sword is broken." I still have to find someone to demonize me again later."

"Enchantment?" Stephen's heart suddenly stirred.

Effia looked at Stephen strangely and asked, "What's wrong?"

"Words of enchantment..." Miss Effia, perhaps you could let me have a try. Stephen said in a deep voice that for his fantasy version of Iron Man armor, he was going to study the technique of enchanttion carefully...
