Spirit Hall
"Na'er, is this the boy who saved you in the Star Dou Great Forest?"
On the high platform, a graceful woman sat on the Pope's throne, speaking in a calm but commanding voice.
"Yes, Your Majesty,"
Hu Liena replied respectfully, kneeling slightly.
Bibi Dong looked at the blond boy standing below. He looked young, with a cute and handsome face, and a calm smile.
Even Bibi Dong, who had seen much in her life, couldn't help but feel a small flutter in her heart.
The boy's clothes were unusual—clearly not from the Douluo Continent. They had a classical look, different from anything Bibi Dong had seen before. But with so many strange things in the world, she wasn't surprised for long.
He wore a white jacket with a purple undershirt. Purple was a hard color to pull off, but somehow, this blond boy made it look noble and elegant. His lower half had camouflage cropped pants—an odd mix, but it suited him well.
To Hu Liena, the boy was perfect. His scarlet eyes especially caught Bibi Dong's attention—eyes like that could shake even someone who had connected with the Rakshasa God.
And deep in Bibi Dong's heart, a strange voice echoed:
"Accept him. Accept him!"
She closed her eyes for a moment. Her connection to the Rakshasa God wasn't strong yet, so she could still control her thoughts.
She calmed herself and opened her eyes to look at the boy again.
Even though Bibi Dong knew the Rakshasa God was tempting her, it still meant this boy must have a special talent.
Hu Liena had explained in detail how powerful he was. For someone his age to be that strong, his talent had to be rare.
But because of Bibi Dong's past, she didn't plan to accept him as a disciple.
She had once been in a teacher-student relationship... and it had ended in deep pain. She still hadn't healed from it.
So, although she wouldn't take him as a student, she also wasn't planning to let such a talent go.
"Boy," Bibi Dong said, looking at him. "Na'er told me you want to join our Spirit Hall?"
As the head of the most powerful force on the continent, Bibi Dong was confident anyone would want to join them. It was like picking the best country to live in—only the foolish would say no.
"Yeah, sister!"
The blond boy replied casually, hands behind his head.
"Hehe... then why do you want to join Spirit Hall?"
Bibi Dong asked, smiling with grace.
"Hmm... probably because Sister Nana is here. And you too,"
he said, thinking aloud and smiling.
That answer, so honest and playful, made both Hu Liena and Bibi Dong's hearts skip a beat.
Plop!
Their hearts thumped in sync.
"Ahem... then I agree to let you join Spirit Hall,"
Bibi Dong said, trying to calm herself.
"But I still don't know your name or your spirit,"
she added.
As someone who didn't usually like men, Bibi Dong was surprised at how patiently she was talking to this boy.
"So, what's your name?" she asked again.
"Gilgamesh. That's my name,"
the boy replied with a smile.
Bibi Dong raised an eyebrow. Gilgamesh? That's a strange name.
"And your martial spirit?" she asked calmly.
Gilgamesh held out his hand, palm facing upward.
"My spirit is called the King's Treasure House."
A golden ripple shimmered above his palm.
"As the name says, it connects to a huge treasure vault. I can take out different items from it—like this, for example…"
A luxuriously wrapped bottle of wine appeared in his hand, pulled from the golden ripple.
Pop!
He opened it. A rich, delicious scent filled the entire hall.
Even Hu Liena, who had never drunk wine, and Bibi Dong, who didn't like alcohol, were amazed at how good it smelled.
But Bibi Dong didn't take a sip.
Gulp. Gulp.
Gilgamesh, however, drank the whole bottle in one go.
"Ahh, that's good stuff!"
he said with a grin.
He continued,
"Besides food and drinks, I can also pull out weapons."
More golden ripples appeared, revealing all kinds of glowing weapons floating in the air.
"This is my martial spirit,"
he said with a proud smile.
Of course, he didn't mention everything—like how many dangerous and powerful things were truly inside that treasure house.
"Alright, Gilgamesh. Spirit Hall welcomes you,"
Bibi Dong said.
She didn't even bother asking about his spirit power or age. As a Titled Douluo, she could sense his level easily.
Looking at him, she guessed:
"He's only six or seven years old, but already at level 20? That's amazing… He's the same age as Nana, but stronger?"
Still, there were questions:
Who were his parents?
Why was he alone in the Star Dou Great Forest?
But Bibi Dong wasn't worried. Spirit Hall had eyes and ears all over the continent. Learning about a single boy's background would be easy.
"You may go now. Gilgamesh, with your talent, we'll assign you a very good teacher,"
she said.
Hu Liena understood and gently guided him out.
